I’ve stayed at a lot of Hyatt properties lately it seems like. One of them being the Hyatt Regency in Lake Tahoe, which is a really unique property. I’ve stayed here a handful of times (before and after having my son) – and can attest to the fact that this hotel has something for everyone.
Our recent stay is up on my YouTube Channel – but keep reading to see a visual tour of the rooms and the property.
Set on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore, the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe has an entire private, lakefront beach and features regular hotel rooms and lakeside cottages. There’s also a small casino, a Hyatt vacation club steps away, a spa, plenty of dining, and unique swim in/swim out pool. The décor reflects the beauty and nature of Lake Tahoe, and it’s just a short drive from Reno/Tahoe International Airport, NorthStar, and the South shore. Overall, we found the rooms beautiful, cozy, and included necessary amenities such as coffee makers, large bathrooms, and a mini fridge.

Rooms
The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe has a wide variety of rooms to choose from. There are standard hotel rooms (which is what we recently stayed in), lakeside cottages with all the amenities of home, and the condos that the Hyatt Vacation Club is known for. We found the beds comfortable, and the rooms larger than your standard hotel room. The decor was really tastefully done (I know they just did a remodel in some of the rooms) and reflected the rustic nature of Lake Tahoe. I’ve also stayed in the Hyatt Vacation Club side, and that property is gorgeous with balconies, huge layouts (rooms have full kitchens and multiple bedrooms), and has just been updated with all new appliances.

Pool & Resort Amenities
The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe has my favorite pool to date in the Tahoe area. They have a kids pool (although it was under renovation when we were there), hot tubs scattered around the grounds, and their large, main pool which is a swim in and swim out style pool! There’s so much to do on this property – there are also large cottage greens to relax on, plenty of firepits scattered throughout the property, close access to walking and hiking trails, and the entire lakefront with beach chairs, a bar, and access to outdoor activities such as boating, kayaking, biking, and so much more.
There’s also a decently sized hotel gym, equipped with Pelotons, standard gym equipment, and an additional studio for bodyweight exercises, virtual workouts, stretching, and group classes. The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe also has fitness classes (on a schedule), daily kids activities, casino, and amazing spa.
Dining
With a small baby, on site dining (and a room mini fridge) were a godsend. We did a lot of restaurant takeout, café food grabs, and even a grocery store run. There’s a higher end restaurant on the lakefront called Lone Eagle Grill, onsite restaurant and bar, a well equipped café and grab and go spot, and a kid friendly bar and restaurant called Cutthroats (we ate here a lot). The food was great, and the café had lots of caffeine, sweets, and snacks such as hummus and charcuterie plates that kept me satisfied. A grocery store is also just a short 5 minute drive from the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe.
Would I stay here again?
As a family, I would definitely stay here again. If I was coming here for a girls trip, or as a single person – I would skip and go either to South Lake Tahoe where there is plenty to do, or Northstar if I was taking a trip focused on skiing/snowboarding (or mountain biking). The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe is great for couples, families, or those just looking for a secluded getaway based on the location. It’s also great for conferences, events, or other corporate get togethers you may have. That being said, having all of that private lakefront, a spa, amazing pools, dining, and a casino at your fingertips is amazing and is where the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe really shines.
